We have for your consideration nineteen (19) vintage restaurantware saucers made by Sterling China. Each is tan with maroon, orange and green stripe. Each is marked on the back 'Sterling Vitrified China Desert Tan East Liverpool, Ohio, USA C.' 16 of the saucers are 6 1/16" diameter and 3 of the saucers are 5 5/8" diameter. The style of logo and C date code indicate a 1950 manufacture date.
I believe the pattern name is simply Multi-color Stripe. But Iroquois made a similar pattern called Pendleton. McNicol and Buffalo China called their pattern Rainbow Cafe.
These vintage saucers are pre-owned but are free of chips and cracks and scratches and appear unused. A few have some discolored specks within the glaze. They were part of the inventory of a restaurant supply warehouse.
