Allegheny-Ludlum Steel Corp 5000-171 Vtg Wooden Foundry Industrial Mold Pattern

Vintage Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation wooden industrial mold labelled 'AL-LUD. 5000-171'.  The overall size of this heavy wooden piece is 22" x 18" x 5/8" thickness.  We do not know what piece/part this mold makes.  Pre-owned and has the dirt, scratches and scrapes to prove it was put to use.  Great industrial look.  Has holes for hanging on each end as well as a hanging wire affixed to the back.

The Allegheny-Ludlum Steel Corp (now Allegheny Technologies Inc. - ATI) is located in Pittsburgh, PA and is one of the largest and most diversified specialty metal producers in the world.  Key markets:  aerospace and defense, oil & gas, chemical process industry, and medical.  Their history dates to the US Revolutionary War (cannonball production).  In 1927 their steel was chosen for New York City's Chrystler Building construction.  In the 1930's - 60's they had an agreement with Ford to make promotional cars with stainless steel bodies - some of these are on display at the Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum.
