Rare 6 piece vintage/antique silverplate tea and coffee service set. Each of the pieces, excluding the footed tray, is marked 'Meriden B. Company 1859' - mark also includes balancing scale logo. The 1859 Meriden marked pieces have a texturized body with an engraved design heart shaped smooth area (probably for monogramming) and banding. The base and top rims have repeating domed arch pattern.
Pre-owned. Tarnish and a small amount of old silver polish is present in some of the crevices. There is a dent near the handle of the 6-cup pot and a repaired area where the lid separated from the hinged ring. There is a dent in the 5 cup pot near the smooth heart shaped area. The tray is not marked Meriden, but it marries nicely with the other pieces. Scratches/wear present.
$ 16.94 $ 19.95This is an older but undated, (Chase) and Sanborn Regular Grind Coffee can or tin with lid. This coffee tin is a one-pound size and has a diameter of 5" x a height of 3 1/2." The graphics are in red, white and blue.
This tin is empty. There are scratches and scrapes in the finish. The lid is probably a replacement although the color and size match very well. The only reason it looks like a replacement is because the word 'Chase' is totally missing - it would normally be partially present on the side of the lid.
