Signed 8 x 10 B&W Photo Ignance Jan Paderewski 1932 To Pianist Mildred Titcomb

We have for your consideration an autographed 8 X 10" black and white photograph of Ignance Jan Paderewski. The sentiment reads: 'To Miss Mildred Titcomb with Kindest Regards of I J Paderewski  20. J. 1932.' Ignance Jan Paderewski (1860-1941) was a Polish composer, pianist, and statesman. He was acquainted with Mildred Titcomb, a brilliant pianist, through her teacher Sigismond Stojowski. Paderewski even attended one or more of her recitals - this signed photo may have been a gift to Mildred following a successful performance. She was also a favorite bridge-playing companion of Paderewski.

This photo is pre-owned and is part of the estate of Mildred Titcomb Rains, a pianist and socialite who was a pupil of Sigismond Stojowski - who in turn was a student of Ignance Paderewski. We do not have a COA for the signed photo but we are able to provide provenance for this item. We purchased it from the family who inherited all of the personal possessions of the Mildred Titcomb Rains' estate. The photo is adhered to a thin piece of cardboard (formerly in a scrapbook). We don't know if the cardboard is acid-free but there is no foxing on the photo.
