'Little Dixie' is a geographic reference to a 13 to 17 county area in northern and mid Missouri along the Mississippi River. Little Dixie Meat is a business located within that region, and it was highlighted in an article from 1979 in the Journal of American Folklore (Vol 92 No. 336 Oct-Dec 1979) titled 'Meat Preservation on the Farm in Missouri's 'Little Dixie'.This jacket is pre-owned but has not been worn. It has been stored by the owner of 'Little Dixie Brand Meat' for years. The jacket is clean and odor-free but has a few scuffs and small stains that occurred during storage (pictured).
We have for your consideration, this vintage black wool felt hat. We believe it is from the 1920's flapper era. It has a fairly deep crown, a turned up brim in front and on one side. There is a button and decorative bow on the opposite side, and we think the button once held a flourish of feathers (which could be added). It is not sized. The hand stitched-in lining has lost some of its stitches. It is not marked by the maker. This vintage hat is pre-owned. It is free of odors and stains. There is a moth-hole on the dome and some on the inside lining (pictured). It has been stored away for years and could use re-shaping and decorative feathers.
We have for your consideration, a vintage ivory-colored wedding dress or gown worn in 1956. It features a lace bodice and sleeves and two voluminous layers of tulle over a bodice and full skirt of satin or satin-like fabric. The hemline of the satin under-dress and the tulle overlay trail much longer in the back. It has two tags 'Sylvia Ann' and 'The Bridal Shop Fargo North Dakota' inside. It is not lined nor does it have bust cups or nicely finished inside seaming. Measurements:
